JLeverX Series 58mm VFiPP
VFiPPs replace puck screens and are used to control espresso extraction so that you get close to an ideal extraction each time without the "dial-in" hassle. They allow you to dial-in once to a global grind size range, slightly courser that what you would normally use for a 58mm espresso basket and you can use the same grind size for almost every extraction. If your shot flows too fast or too slow just change the flow button on your VFiPP plate (if you don't want to do this just purchase multiple plates and have a dedicated flow button installed for each plate).
Machine Compatibility
VFiPPs are presently only compatible with manual lever machines
where there is more head space, like for example the
Flair58. Recommended baskets include: the Wafo Classic Or
Spirit, the IMS All in One - H28 or H25, or similar height and
hole count baskets. See
our VFiPP page for updated info on usage. Other baskets of
course can be used with VFiPP but we'd recommend a declining lever
pressure profile.
June 2026 Update - We are presently developing a custom 35mm high - 3k hole JLeverX series 58mm espresso basket, especially designed to take full advantage of the VFiPP process extraction.
Note also VFiPPs takes up ~11mm head-space and will reduce the rated dose on a 58mm espresso basket. If your basket has a max rated dose of 28g, you'll only be able to pull an 23-18g dose (depending on group head structure after shower screen removal). However, this applies less to manual lever espresso machines with ample headspace.
